Most of the triggerfish can be quite aggressive when guarding their eggs and the titan triggerfish can pose as a serious threat to inattentive divers due to its large size and powerful (human-like) teeth!
Many divers have said that they’ve seen the fish break off big chunks of coral with their powerful teeth before, and you can hear them crunching on corals under water sometimes.
Someone also explained that “they’re called triggerfish because the triangular dorsal fin at the top of their head extends when they’re angry.”
The Titan Triggerfish are known for their aggressive and territorial nature and some divers say that they frighten them more than sharks in the water! Conclusion: you don’t want to mess with them.
