After three decades on air, HITZ is celebrating a major milestone in a way that few radio stations would dare — by letting everyone make fun of them.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, Malaysia's No.1 English radio station will host The Roast of HITZ: Malaysia's No.1 Retirement Party on 19 June 2026 at The Platform, Menara KEN TTDI. The one-night-only event promises an evening of comedy, nostalgia and unapologetic roasting as comedians, creators, former announcers, artists and listeners come together to celebrate the station's legacy.

More than just a comedy show, the event aims to honour the personalities, creators and artists who have helped shape HITZ and Malaysian youth culture over the past 30 years.
The lineup features some of the region's biggest comedy names, including Singaporean comedian Fadzri Rashid, alongside Malaysian favourites Dr. Jason Leong, Kavin Jay and Keren Balan Devan, all set to put the HITZ team in the hot seat.
Fans can also look forward to a reunion of familiar HITZ voices, with former announcers Juanita, Adam C, who will serve as Roast Master and host, and Jinnyboy returning for the celebration. Jinnyboy's appearance is expected to bring an extra dose of nostalgia, given his role as one of Malaysia's early digital content pioneers.
Joining the festivities are social media personality Ceddy Ang and Singaporean actress-host Munah Bagharib, while the music lineup includes Salome Das, Claudia Tan and legendary Malaysian alternative rock band Disagree. Their presence reflects both the history and evolution of Malaysia's music scene, from bands that defined an era to artists leading the next generation.
In keeping with the spirit of a roast, listeners who want to attend won't just RSVP — they'll need to submit their own roast of HITZ through the HITZ app. Whether it's a funny memory, a playful jab at the station or a joke about the announcers, fans are encouraged to get creative. Selected submissions may even be featured during the event itself.
According to HITZ Brand Manager Sean Farrell Matjeraie, the celebration is about more than the station itself.
"It had to be about the people who helped make HITZ what it is today — the listeners, personalities, comedians, creators and artists who have been part of the journey."
Since launching in 1996, HITZ has introduced generations of Malaysians to global hits, helped launch entertainment careers and remained a major force in youth culture. The Roast of HITZ serves as both a tribute to that legacy and a look ahead to the station's next chapter.
The event is free and open to the public, with registration closing on 18 June 2026. Interested fans can download the HITZ app, submit their roast and complete the RSVP process while seats are still available.
Thirty years after first hitting the airwaves, HITZ is proving that if you're going to celebrate a milestone, you might as well be willing to laugh at yourself too.
