As most of the world is now spending their days indoors to help stop the spread of COVID-19, many productions of movies and series have been on hold. One of these movies includes Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

The cast of The Batman are currently at home, and though production may be on hold, many of the actors are in the midst of preparing themselves to take on their roles in the highly anticipated movie by working out.
Except Robert Pattinson aka Batman.
GQ recently caught up with the actor who is currently staying indoors in London to find out what he’s been up to during the quarantine period.
And while Robert may be filling his time with various things, working out is not one of them.
If fans have been waiting to see a bulked up Batman in the upcoming movie, it seems like they may be disappointed as the actor is simply not interested in following the the footsteps of Christian Bale who gained a lot of weight for his role as Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
“I think if you’re working out all the time, you’re part of the problem,” Robert told GQ, despite having been given a strict fitness regime by his trainer for the part.
“You set a precedent,” he added. “No-one was doing this in the 1970s. Even James Dean – he wasn’t exactly ripped.”
The actor’s personal trainer who was hired by the film studio, even pleaded with him to start using the Bosu ball and single weight that had been provided for him during the COVID-19 lockdown but Robert is “barely doing anything.”
But he has however decided to stick to the meal plan provided that includes tuna topped with Tabasco, and vanilla protein powder sprinkled on some oatmeal.
To be fair to the actor, not everyone is keen on working out while staying home, and tbh, same.
Once news of Robert’s decision to not exercise hit social media, fans immediately took sides. Some agreed with the actor’s mindset and defended his decision while others called him out for being “lazy” and remain rooted that Batman should be “beefy”.
If this statement is true, it seems like Robert Pattinson is not dedicated and passionate enough to play Batman if he is ignoring to workout during quarantine. Batman ain`t suppose to be lazy. https://t.co/Xkj53HZl8m

the king robert pattinson saying he refuses to work out to play batman because he doesn't want to "set a precedent" is the philosophy i'm bringing into today, and perhaps the remainder of my life

Robert Pattinson blatantly ignoring his trainer’s pleas to workout for Batman while in quarantine is a big isolation mood I can appreciate https://t.co/goGBBuPIhG pic.twitter.com/YaEVOV2hs0

the fact that Robert Pattinson is refusing to work out for his role in Batman... I just know it’s gonna be iconic
— moronica (@preiss_is_right) May 12, 2020
imagine being the beefcake personal trainer who’s dedicated his life to pushing the limits of his body and perfecting his form only for some millionaire to tell you “but thats not what they did in the 70s” i love robert pattinson but if you’re not gonna work out dont be batman

If Robert Pattinson doesn't want to work out then fine, but if you're getting paid big time bucks to play an iconic character like the Batman, shouldn't you be doing everything asked of you by trainers?
— Mike D. (@DouceyD) May 12, 2020
Maybe Pattinson is going for more of an Adam West vibe.
Robert Pattinson said, "The movie is going to get the body I give it!" We getting quarantine bod Batman this round folks. 😂

Batman is a fictional character, he’s not supposed to be anything. Why not be open to different interpretations, maybe one that doesn’t encourage body dysmorphia?

Or perhaps Pattinson can bring the element of mental strength which is just as important. Just because a person isn’t physically sculpted to your standards doesn’t make them lazy. I personally believe that men don’t have to be insanely ripped to be considered strong.
— Rachel Isaac (@JuniperBRZE5) May 12, 2020
Now you're just being silly. Remember he's a NORMAL HUMAN BEING WITHOUT SUPER POWERS. He needs to be in top condition to... you know... fight crime? That thing batman does?
— Darian Jimenez T. (@NsR_Dari) May 12, 2020
He's got a point. And let's be real here, Christian Bale was not ripped by any means. Did he have some muscle on him? Absolutely. But he was nowhere near jacked or ripped at all and he still played an amazing Batman. Pattinson is gonna the character justice just wait and see.
