The debate between pineapple and pizza has long been going on with pizza lovers sharing their love and hate for the fruit as a topping.
Now, a new pizza topping is dividing the internet. This time, breakfast cereal.

Fong’s Pizza, a pizza restaurant in Iowa, US, is challenging the natural order of one of the world’s favourite dishes by introducing cereal as a new pizza topping.
Typically enjoyed for dinner or as leftovers, the restaurant is trying its hardest to make the Italian dish available for breakfast by topping the pizza slices with Froot Loops cereal.
The restaurant’s co-founder Gwen Page discussed the cereal-topped pizza with TODAY Food saying:
“We wanted to provide an option that we thought would be be fun for children because of the suburban market.
But also we love doing things that are just off-the-wall. Like what can we do to give people that truly unique experience? That’s what we strive for at Fong’s.”
Instead of your regular red or white sauce base, the pizza comes with a sweet cream cheese sauce base with mozzarella, a drizzle of Greek yogurt and condensed milk.
Since its arrival, the “Loopy Fruit Pizza” has been gaining much attention, especially on social media where netizens have been divided once again between those willing to give the breakfast pizza a try and those who find the idea punishable.

I actually love Froot Loops. But not on pizza, no how, no way.

Oh, Iowa. It's gonna be okay. Just back away slowly from the "breakfast pizza." We're here for you.

@RedisBlunt pineapple has been beaten as the pizza-trocity to be combated.. this is an abomination to pizza everywhere, and as a worker of a pizza place, I take extra offense pic.twitter.com/0xOx9Socgh

If it tastes like the cereal bars I would definitely try it. The dessert pizza in @RealLunchables was always my favorite.

Despite the varying opinions and criticism, the restaurant is still standing by its new creation and is even asking fans which type of cereal they should feature next on their pizzas.
To each their own, we guess but we’re gonna be on team #NoCerealOnPizza thanks.
Do you think you’d give the cereal pizza a try? Let us know!
