Malaysian food is the best. It’s so good that sometimes even other countries *cough Singapore cough* want to “claim” them! But we also have our share of food like smelly toufu, durian and petai that some Malaysian can’t stand the smell of.

A user recently asked Twitter, “What was your worst kitchen failure” and said that his was “putting cold keropok lekor into too hot oil” and creating “an angry oil volcano.”

And another user’s reply went viral after he revealed that his friend’s wife that lived in France was so excited after she got belacan, she decided to grill it at her apartment to make sambal belacan.

But things took a turn when the police came to knock on the door because her neighbor apparently reported the smell of dead body coming from her apartment!

The neighbor reported the matter to the police saying it could be a body that has been dead for a long time and Malaysian netizens laughed at the whole ordeal!

Netizens started saying that the French have no idea what “smelly” food we have in Malaysia and one user joked that they would have suffocated if they smelled petai.
