Nadinne Bruna, a 32-year-old Instagram model, has become partially blind after undergoing surgery to change the colour of her eyes from hazel to light grey. The model, who lives in Miami, Florida, flew to Colombia to have the surgery, which by the way, isn’t approved in the US.
The surgery, which was given to Nadinne for a discounted price of US$3,000 (RM 11,672), involved inserting silicone implants into her eyes.

At first, the surgery appeared to have gone well. But Nadinne began experiencing serious problems immediately after the procedure.

According to Nadinne, her vision was constantly blurry due to the pressure being placed on her optic nerves by the implants. Her eyes were red and painful for months.
She returned to Colombia twice to have further procedures that attempted to repair the damage done to her eyes. But, she was eventually forced to get medical attention at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. There, an ophthalmologist and a team of medics removed the dangerous implants from Nadinne’s eyes, and performed emergency surgery to treat the glaucoma resulting from the implants.

Now, Nadinne has lost 80% of the vision in her right eye and 50% of her vision in her left eye. She’ll have to deal with the consequences of the surgery for the rest of her life.
