Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely one of Disney’s most iconic movie franchise and Johnny Depp may return to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow!
Report says that Johnny Depp is being considered to return as the infamous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the sixth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
The news came after recent “revelations” made in the court case between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp first played Captain Jack Sparrow in The Curse Of The Black Pearl that was released back in 2003 and the four films that followed.
It was until 2016 that Disney was rumoured to “distance” themselves from Depp on purpose after the abuse allegations made by Amber Heard went public.
The 56-year-old star is currently in a libel case against The Sun for a story that was published in 2018 and a full hearing is set to testify on March 23.
The overwhelming support from the public amid the recent turn of events in Depp’s legal battle is said to be the reason why Disney’s executives are lobbying for his return behind the scenes.
Disney is reported to be looking for a female lead for the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie and if Depp is to return, he might be playing
“more of a supporting role” in it!
