Single? Broke? Renting an expensive place on your own? We’ve got news for you!

Recently, the Kuala Lumpur mayor, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, announced that a new initiative has been introduced by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to give low-income, unmarried individuals a hand.

The initiative will allow these individuals, who live in KL, to rent rooms from as low as RM100 a month under a micro-housing scheme! The scheme will be starting this year!

The micro-housing scheme will help “reduce the burden of single people in the B40 group who faced difficulties to rent a room in the federal capital,” The Star reports.

“We will be implementing the concept of capsule hotel in which an old DBKL building in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman has been identified and will be modified into two blocks, one for men and other for women with 120 rooms each,” said the mayor.

“The two-block building can accommodate up to 200 occupants and they only need to pay rent as low as RM100,” he added.

The only down side from this sweet deal is that building occupants will not be allowed to cook in their rooms. Oh well, at least there’s food all around KL right?

Know someone that would want to move in to the capsule hotel?
