A South Korean court has ruled against NJZ, temporarily blocking the K-pop group from using their new name due to an ongoing legal battle with former label ADOR, a HYBE subsidiary. The injunction prevents them from engaging in commercial activities as NJZ, citing potential harm to ADOR’s reputation.

NJZ, which rebranded after leaving ADOR in February, expressed disappointment and plans to appeal the ruling. They argued that the court did not fully consider their claims of mistreatment and that they lacked adequate time to present their case. Despite the setback, the group will proceed with their scheduled performance at ComplexCon in Hong Kong, likely under the NewJeans name.

ADOR welcomed the ruling, reaffirming its legal rights over NewJeans and pledging to support the group under its original identity. The dispute originates from the firing of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, whom NJZ supported, and their accusations of mistreatment by the label—claims ADOR denies. A full court hearing is set for April 3.
