The world is a little sadder today as many of us woke up to news that Helen McCrory, the actress known for her roles in Harry Potter and Peaky Blinders, has passed away at age 52.
Following a battle with cancer, the actress who played Narcissa Malfoy in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Aunt Polly on Peaky Blinders, passed away at home, comforted by friends and family, her husband Damian Lewis shared.
“I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family,” Damian said in a statement.
“She died as she lived,” he added. “Fearlessly. God, we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go no, Little One, into the air, and thank you.”

Survived by her husband and two children, the late actress has been a presence on the big and small screen for nearly 30 years.
During her career, she appeared in many fan-favourites such as Harry Potter, Peaky Blinders, His Dark Materials, Skyfall, Penny Dreadful, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and more.
