Malaysia recently made global headlines when our very own health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham was recognise as one of the world’s top doctors in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. And now he’s back to win over our hearts again!

A twitter user recently tweeted about how his sister wrote a letter and even sent a friendship bracelet to Dr Noor Hisham… and got a surprise and heart-warming reply from him!
“So my lil sister wrote a letter for Dr Hisham and sent it to his office. Then today got a whatsapp message with this pic of the official surat,” the caption wrote.
“Dr Hisham punya reply to my lil sis. He is so humble and I respect him a lot with what his contributions for our country.”
The sister named Lara wrote, "I have made the blue LoomBand for you to thank you for all the work you are doing to help the people of Malaysia to stay safe and healthy during this virus outbreak,” and ended with “your friend, Lara.”

And considering how busy Dr Noor Hisham is on the nation’s COVID-19 fight, it’s surprising that he actually took the time to write back to Lara with the official Ministry of Health header and the reply is certainly heartwarming!
“Your words are too kind but I am not doing it alone. I am lucky to have a great team with me to help our country. Fellow Malaysians like yourself have been a wonderful help by playing your part by staying at home.”
He also revealed that his granddaughter is wearing and likes the friendship bracelet Lara made and continued, “I hope you’ll continue to study hard and keep up with your grades. One day, it will be your turn to help Malaysia. Find your dreams and work hard for it!”
And that’s not all, he ended the letter with “from your new friend, Dr. Hisham” with his signature and it’s the most wholesome thing ever! (Brb crying.)
Many netizens are praising him for his humility and how he took the time to reply amidst the nation’s effort to fight the pandemic.

The health director-general also played down the recognition that he received after being called a top doctor and instead said that the praise should be directed at the country’s top leadership and our frontliners for all their hardwork!
