Sony’s PlayStation 5 is set to release in “Holiday 2020” which is around October and December this year, but other details have yet to be revealed and one thing fans are curious about is the backwards compatibility feature!

Sony is reported to be working on a “remastering engine” that allows the players to load games from PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 and also add various enhancement like 4K support and trophy system!

“PlayStation 5 will introduce a remastering engine process for backwards compatibility will PS1 all the way to PS4,” said the source. “Everything. Everywhere. That’s the focus that Sony has been on since 2012.”

The system will have features built-in it that will support custom resolution and anti-aliasing for the old games.

The report, though unofficial, came from HipHopGamer, that has proven to be a reliable source in the past and is confident enough to put his name behind the claim.

The PlayStation 5’s futuristic render design was previously revealed along with information about an eight-core CPU and custom GPU based on AMD’s Radeon Navi hardware.
