As Malaysians, one of the things that we love from celebrities is seeing them attempting to speak in Bahasa Malaysia, especially if they say “Saya cinta Malaysia” or more.

And The Flash star, Grant Gustin is no different!

Many fans will know that the actor tied the knot with Malaysian-American, Andrea ‘LA’ Thoma, last year and their Kadazan wedding was the talk of the town.

Now, blissfully married, the couple still remain the envy of many who deem their relationship the ultimate #CoupleGoals.

—As I enter another lap around the sun, I can’t help but reminisce on all the amazing life changes that have happened over the last couple years. I am so honored to share an incredible experience Grant and I had in our marriage journey. We were able to honor my Kadazan tribal ancestors through a traditional wedding ceremony called Miohon Pinisi. It was such a gift to be able to celebrate and connect to my mothers cultural heritage that welcomed Grant with open arms. We recognize how lucky we are to be part of this ancestral line, and it is so important to us to keep these traditions as part of our life and to continue to pass it down to future generations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ —Thank you to my Nenek (grandma) and Datuk (grandpa, may he Rest In Peace) for always opening their home to anyone and everyone who has ever needed a roof over their head. Thank you to the Majalap’s and crew for always knowing how to throw a good party and working tirelessly to make this ceremony happen. Thank you to the Bobohizan (shaman) and crew who performed this beautiful ceremony.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And finally thank you to my husband, who stepped wayyy out of his comfort zone, into a new country and my small army of a family, and opened his heart to becoming part of our tribe. Sharing that experience with you was a priceless gift I will forever be thankful for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷@the_kvar 🎥@bryankoujustudio

A post shared by LA Thoma Gustin (@lathoma3) on

The Flash actor’s better half recently took to social media to share a snippet of their lives and it shows how LA has been teaching Grant to speak some Bahasa Malaysia.

She captioned the post, “One of my favourite videos – trying to teach G how to say “don’t mess with me” in Malay. It always makes me smile :)”

In the video, LA is jokingly irritating her husband and he replies her with “Jangan kacau saya” a few times before she tries to teach him the proper way to say the sentence.

It’s adorable; we’ll let you be the judge.

Awwww! We’ve got so much love for this couple and especially Grant for picking up Bahasa Malaysia!

Are you a fan of Grant and LA’s relationship? Let us know!
