Without a doubt, many of us would love to see Chris Evans back in uniform and with his iconic shield as our favourite Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That is why when rumours recently made its way around that Cap would be returning, many fans were quick to start celebrating.
Deadline recently reported that Chris was in talks to return to the MCU in a future Marvel project.
According to the publication’s sources it was “unlikely to be a new Captain America installment and more likely to be like what Robert Downey Jr. did after Iron Man 3, appearing in such films as Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
Unfortunately, the rumour was just a rumour, at least according to the actor himself.
After the news went viral, Chris took to Twitter with a simple line saying: “News to me.”
Cue heartbreaks everywhere.

Despite the actor denying the claim, fans were still quick to share their hopes for Chris to return to the role. While some of his ex co-stars even weighed in, others are hoping that this is one of those secrets that Marvel is famous for and the actor is just playing along...

We can’t say we weren’t disappointed to hear Chris denying his return to the MCU. We’re still crossing our fingers that it’ll somehow come true though!
