The DCEU may have just started its Superman & Lois series but it looks like there’s another Superman that’s about to land from Krypton.
 
Recent reports have shared that a DC Superman reboot is currently on the way.

Before you get your hopes up too high, unfortunately there’s no news yet as to whether Henry Cavill will be returning to put on the cape, but you can bet that we’re crossing our fingers and toes.
 
The new reboot will be written by Ta-Nehisi Coates who has also written a Black Panther and a Captain America series for Marvel Comics.
 
“To be invited into the DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honour,” Ta-Nehisi shared in a statement. “I look forward to meaningfully adding to the legacy of America’s most iconic mythic hero.”
 
Deadline confirmed that J.J. Abrams is also set to produce the upcoming reboot.

Development on the upcoming movie is still in its early stages and while no plot or cast has been announced just yet, reports share that the new Superman will feature an African-American Clark Kent.
 
A director of the project has yet to be named as well.

Despite there being no cast announcement yet, fans have taken to social media with their suggestions as to who should put on the iconic superhero’s cape, with some even suggesting that Henry or Brandon Routh be brought back to the role.
 

If it's not Henry Cavill than I am not interested in another Superman this decade.

What I want in this Superman reboot:

•Don’t recast Cavill, he’s perfect as Superman and he deserves more time wearing the cape
•Set it in The Batman’s universe, that would be so cool!
•Don’t use Alex as a villain yet, but still let him be in the movie
