However, for those who are currently stranded or still in their hometown, a little leeway has been allowed.

With the upcoming MCO set to take place from 13th to 26th January, roadblocks will be set in place beginning midnight tonight to prevent inter-state travel – which has been banned during the two weeks.

However, according to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, those who are currently in their hometowns have until Friday, 15th January, to make their way back to their homes.

“After discussing with the police, we will be giving some leeway over the next few days for people to make their way home,” he said. “They will have to do it at least by Friday, or may be stuck in their hometowns for the next two weeks.”

The Senior Minister also added that those with flight and bus express tickets during this time will be allowed to proceed with their travel plan.

The public has also been reminded that inter-state travel will not be allowed regardless if the states are under MCO, CMCO, or RMCO during this period of time.

So if you’re not back in your homes yet, be sure to get home by Friday or be prepared to stay where you are until the movement control order is over.

Share this with your loved ones who are stranded during this time.
