Squid Game became one of the most popular shows ever after its release this year, and it looks like the game will continue with a second season!
Show creator Hwang Dong-hyuk said that “there’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice!”
"There will indeed be a second season. It's in my head right now," he said at the red carpet event in LA, alongside Squid Game’s main actor Lee Jung-jae. "I'm in the planning process currently."
He also promised that Gi-hun will return and “do something for the world”, but it’s still too early to say when the second season be released.

A Netflix spokesperson told CNBC that Squid Game season 2 is “in discussion but not confirmed yet.”
But looking at how the show quickly became the most popular show on the streaming platform, it won’t be a surprise that the second season will arrive sooner than expected!
