The 97th Academy Awards delivered an unforgettable night, as Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2 to celebrate the best in film.
Hosted for the first time by Conan O’Brien, the Oscars honored outstanding performances and groundbreaking films from the past year. Among the biggest winners of the night was Kieran Culkin, who took home Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. Zoë Saldaña also secured a win in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Emilia Pérez.

The competition was fierce in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories, with Adrien Brody winning for The Brutalist and Mikey Madison taking home the award for Anora. Meanwhile, Anora claimed the top prize of Best Picture, cementing its place in cinematic history.

O’Brien’s sharp-witted opening monologue set the tone for the night, playfully poking fun at Hollywood’s elite, including Timothée Chalamet, who attended with girlfriend Kylie Jenner. He also took aim at Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón’s recent social media controversy, adding a humorous touch to the evening.
The show featured powerhouse performances from Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Queen Latifah, and BLACKPINK’s Lisa, making the night even more spectacular. With presenters including Halle Berry, Whoopi Goldberg, Penélope Cruz, Selena Gomez, and Harrison Ford, the ceremony was packed with A-list appearances.

With emotional speeches, well-deserved wins, and a few surprises, the 2025 Oscars proved to be a night to remember.
