If you’ve re-watched The Witcher over and over again like we have since it first came out, then we’ve got some news for you!
Our very own Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh is set to join the Witcherverse in a six-part prequel series!
It was recently announced that the Malaysian actress would be joining the cast of the upcoming limited series, The Witcher: Blood Origin.
Before you get too excited, unfortunately it doesn’t seem like Henry Cavill and Michelle Yeoh would be sharing a screen as the series will be a prequel that’s set over a thousand years before the appearance of Geralt of Rivia.
According to a statement announcing the actress’ involvement in the new project, it shared that Michelle will be portraying the character Scían,
who is described as the “very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves.”
“No one can come close to her artistry with the blade, and no one carries as much loss within their heart”, the statement said.
“When a chance presents itself to retrieve a stolen sacred sword, taken from her fallen tribe by nefarious means, she launches herself into a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the Continent.”
With an absolutely magical career in the film industry, she’s still flying our 🇲🇾 flag high. Dato’ Michelle Yeoh has been cast in the role of Scían in the upcoming series, The Witcher: Blood Origin 🎉

Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher, the limited prequel series will see Michelle going into full action mode and we can’t wait!
The prequel will tell the “story of the creation of the first prototype Witcher, & the events that led to the pivotal ‘conjunction of the spheres’, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one”.
We’re super excited for more of the Witcherverse, especially now that one of our very own will be in it!
We can’t wait to see Michelle as Scían!
