MCO will be implemented for 14 days, starting Wednesday, January 13.

It involves 3 stages of implementation:

- MCO in Penang, Selangor, Federal Territory (KL, Putrajaya, Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah.

- CMCO in Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.

- RMCO will be implemented in Perlis and Sarawak.

Mass social activities are not allowed.

For states under RMCO, social activities are allowed with strict SOPs.

Inter-state travelling is not allowed.

Inter-district travels is also not allowed in MCO areas.

5 essential economic sectors are allowed to operate:

Manufacturing

Construction

Service

Trade and Distribution

Farming and commodities

Students and candidates for major examinations such as SPM are given exemption from movement restrictions.

Supermarkets; clinics, hospitals and pharmacies; as well as banks are allowed to operate

Eateries and hawker stalls are allowed to operate only for take-away services in MCO areas.

Both are allowed to operate as usual according to the SOP set for CMCO and RMCO areas.

Instructions to work from home will take effect for non-essential services sectors.
