It can be hard to move on when we lose someone, and one husband never stopped looking for his wife since she went missing in 2011.

Yasuo Takamatsu lost his wife when the tsunami hit the city of Onagawa in Miyagi, Japan.

His wife went missing since the incident 10 years ago and two years after the tragedy, at the age of 64, he got himself a diving license to look for her.

Till this day Takamatsu has dived as many as 470 times and he’s been diving every week for 7 years straight.

"I dived for my wife ... if I could find her somewhere. I always thought she might be around the area.

“Recently there have been reports stating there are bodies found, so I feel it is very important that I continue the search without giving up,” he said.

"In her last message that she sent me, she said 'Are you okay? I want to go home'. So I'm sure she still wants to go home. I want to take her home," he added.

Besides diving solo every month, Takamatsu also joins the local authority to execute search efforts in the area where around 2,500 victims’ bodies are still unfound.

As of today, he has found photo albums, clothes and artifacts, but they don’t belong to that of his wife.

He insisted that as long as his body is still moving, he will still continue to dive and look for his wife.

Many netizens were touched by his story, with many praising his loyalty and duty as a husband while others hoping he can one day find his peace and resolution.

We hope the victims of the tragedy are now resting in peace.
