Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni is urging fans not to read too much into their rivalry with England ahead of Thursday’s semifinal clash at the football festival in North America.
He insists there is nothing more than football at stake, amid suggestions that tempers could run high due to the history between the two sides.
Argentina and England have had several high-profile and emotionally-charged matches in the past, including Diego Maradona’s infamous Hand of God incident in 1986.
The Falklands War in the early 80’s also remains a sensitive issue for the two nations.

Meanwhile, the sports’ governing body is not ruling out holding talks soon about expanding the number of participating countries in future editions of the tournament to 64.
The ongoing edition already features a record 48 nations.
