Malaysia could hit the target of 6 Asian Games gold medals by this afternoon!

This, as squash stars Ng Eain Yow and S. Sivasangari will appear in the men’s and women’s singles finals.  

Eain Yow progressed to the men’s final after a confident win over his Pakistani opponent in the semis.  

Meanwhile Sivasangari posted a dominant win over her rival from Hong Kong.  

Both players will be extra motivated for victory, as a gold medal will give them automatic qualification for the 2028 Olympics.  

The men’s final is scheduled to start at 3pm, with the women’s final expected to begin an hour later.

In track and field, sprinter Danish Iftikhar Roslee will be competing for the men’s 200m gold medal, in Malaysia’s first appearance in the event’s final in 44 years.

Elsewhere, divers Ong Ker Ying-Lee Yiat Qing have picked up a bronze medal in the women's 3m springboard.  

And Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah have beaten their Indian opponents to reach the badminton women’s doubles semifinals, meaning they are guranteed at least a bronze medal.

Currently the national contingent are on 4 gold medals overall, while we also have 1 silver and 8 bronze.
