Learning Beyond Vision is a project by Public Relations students from the Mass Communication programme at UiTM Shah Alam, in collaboration with the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), aimed at raising awareness about the blind community and promoting inclusivity. Throughout the project, we successfully organised two pocket events and one main event. 17 June 2026 We set up an awareness booth at Kompleks PKNS, Shah Alam to promote inclusivity for the blind community. In addition, we shared information about UiTM iCEPS learning programmes, hoping to inspire visitors to consider UiTM iCEPS as their choice of institution for furthering their studies. 20 June 2026 We had the privilege of hosting an exclusive podcast session with Puan Huraizah, a representative from the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB). During this insightful discussion, we explored the stereotypes, experiences, and challenges faced by the blind community in Malaysia while gaining a deeper understanding of their perspectives and lived realities. The full podcast is available on our YouTube channel, where viewers can discover a different way of seeing the world. 3 July 2026 Learning Beyond Vision visited the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) at Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Kuala Lumpur, for a volunteering session. We contributed by recording audiobooks and typing books into accessible formats for the blind community. We also learned about other volunteer opportunities, including ad hoc reading sessions. We hope to return in the future to continue supporting MAB's efforts in making knowledge more accessible for the blind community!
