Super El Nino Could Push Temperatures To Record High

Temperatures in Malaysia could hit as high as 40 degrees Celsius early next year.

The Met Department says this is due to a Super El Nino phenomenon, which is forecast to bring hotter and drier weather across most parts of the country between November and January.

Incidentally, the last time temperatures went above 40 degrees here was back in 1998, when we also faced an extreme El Nino phenomenon.

The Department adds that government agencies have already begun preparations for the extreme weather as well as potential wildfires, water shortages, heat-related health issues.

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia says both the victim and the alleged attacker are entitled to legal protections under the Child Act and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It adds that the widespread circulation of photos, personal information and other unverified claims on social media, will not only expose the kids to public stigma, but also interfere with the investigation.
