The number of scam cases has seen a sharp increase in recent years.
The Communications Ministry says more than 2.7 billion ringgit in losses were recorded last year, with investment scams accounting for the largest share.
This is why its working closely with the MCMC to step up its Safe Internet Campaign across all levels of the community.

The Selangor government says it has already submitted the investigation report on the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion to the Federal government, and is now awaiting feedback.
The report will then be released to the public, once the necessary permissions have been received.
