Najib Pays RM50m Fine But House Arrest Is On Hold For Now

Datuk Seri Najib Razak's house arrest, for the remainder of his SRC International sentence, has been put on hold for now.

The Attorney General's Chambers says further clarification is needed from the relevant authorities on the wording of the former PM's conditional pardon.

This, after Najib's lawyer confirmed that Najib had settled a RM50 million fine, which was a condition for the house arrest to take effect.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister is sticking to his promise to step down over Datuk Seri Najib Razak's conditional pardon.

Anthony Loke says it will take effect the moment Najib arrives at his home.

Under the terms of the conditional pardon, Najib will remain under house arrest until August 2028.
