MARA will not compromise on student safety and welfare, especially in cases of sexual misconduct involving teachers at its institutions. 

The agency says its authorities are required to enforce strict SOPs to handle such complaints immediately. 

It adds that the first step is for the teacher involved to be suspended, followed by a police report. 

This, following accusations that a male teacher was still teaching at an MRSM after allegedly molesting a male Form Three student in December last year.

The National Anti-Drug Agency will roll out specialized test kits nationwide next month to detect fentanyl and emerging synthetic substances. 

This, amid growing concerns over drug-laced vape liquids. 

It adds that the kits have already been distributed to all of its offices nationwide in preparation for enforcement operations beginning in June.

In a related development, the agency is targeting up to 40 thousand drug-related arrests by the end of the year. 

It's currently recorded about 15 thousand arrests nationwide so far this year.
