The hiker who was rescued from Gunung Batu Putih is now in stable condition in hospital.  

The Perak Fire and Rescue Dept says the 49-year-old sustained several minor injuries during her two-week ordeal.  

This includes injuries to her head after falling while trying to find her way to safety.  

She went missing while hiking up the mountain late last month, and was found yesterday.

The govt is committed to maintaining people’s dignity while channeling financial aid to deserving groups.  

PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says this includes prioritising direct transfers into recipients’ bank accounts.  

He says this is a better approach, compared to forcing people to queue for hours to get the aid, which he described as obsolete and disrespectful to the rakyat.

The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry says it’s looking into reports of a mysterious bright light being seen in Sabah’s airspace earlier this week. 

So far, it has not identified the source of the light, adding there have been no official reports of debris falling from space.  

The ministry reminded the public not to touch any suspicious objects found in the area, and instead contact the authorities through the 999 emergency line.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry wants the public to give its feedback on the Senior Citizens Bill.

This, as it continues to fine-tune the proposed law, that aims to strengthen the protection, welfare and rights of senior citizens.

And tributes have poured in for British actor Anthony Stewart Head, who is best known for playing Giles in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.    

He died recently at the age of 74, due to complications from pneumonia.
