Early Voting Underway In Johor

Early voting is now underway for the Johor state election. 

It involves more than 24 thousand police and military personnel and their spouses.

The process is being conducted across 64 early voting centers across the state.

Polls will close between noon and 6PM depending on the location and number of voters.

The 15-year-old girl who is accused of stabbing and injuring a fellow student at a school in Banting, has been remanded for four days to assist with investigations.

Cops had earlier said they’re investigating the case for attempted murder.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry says its current priority is ensuring the victim receives the necessary treatment, and providing psychosocial support to everyone else affected.

The government is working on the country’s first official cost-of-living benchmark for households caring for people with disabilities, home-based patients and elderly dependents.

The Statistics Department says this is aimed at giving policymakers a clearer picture of the real cost of caregiving which will help them formulate more targeted forms of welfare support.

More than ten thousand Malaysians are still waiting for organ transplants.

The Health Parliament Special Select Committee adds that there have only been over 3,600 successful organ transplants conducted in the country, since the service was first offered.

The Finance Ministry says the new base medical and health insurance and takaful plan will be known as MediAsas, with the pilot phase to begin later this month ahead of a national rollout in January.

And, the JPJ says it will start carrying out round the clock monitoring at both KLIA terminals to better crack down on transportation touts.
