Don't Delay Reporting Sexual Misconduct In Schools

Schools as well as district and state education departments have been told to act fast on complaints involving sexual misconduct. 

The Education Ministry says these cases should be reported to the authorities immediately, instead of waiting for the matter to go viral before taking action.

Its also urging the public to bring up these incidents directly to the authorities, instead of relying on social media.

The Home Ministry is warning that refugees are not exempt from following Malaysian laws.

It reminded that anyone who commits a crime, even those with refugee status, is subject to enforcement and prosecution.

It said this amid public concern about crimes being committed by certain segments of the refugee community here.

In a separate development… the Ministry says NGO’s are encouraged to set up more halfway homes…to support the government’s efforts to help former prison inmates re-integrate into society.
