10 Msian GSF Participants Intercepted By Israel

10 Malaysian members of the Global Sumud Flotilla have been detained by Israeli forces, after their ships were intercepted in international waters while enroute to Gaza.  

The Sumud Nusantara Command Centre says they were onboard 6 of the 22 ships that were intercepted off the coast of Greece.  

The command centre says their status is currently unclear, and it is trying to get full details of their detention.

A military officer has been charged with murder for allegedly causing the death of a Bangladeshi tourist in a drunk driving incident last week.  

The accused was allegedly driving on the opposite lane along the MEX Highway when he collided with another vehicle, killing the victim and injuring his wife.

Separately, a Chinese national in Sungai Petani, Kedah has been fined RM10,000 for his drunk-driving case.  

He pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving, after he drove against the flow of traffic and caused an accident.

Essential govt services, including those in the education and healthcare sectors, are NOT affected by the directive for govt ministries and agencies to cut operational costs.  

The Finance Ministry says the cuts only involve non-critical spending such as the hosting of events, limiting overseas travel and training, and reducing office utility bills.

In other news

So far, authorities have issued 4,600 notices to litterbugs this year, and 177 of them have already been ordered to undergo community service.

Police have arrested 69 people as part of an international crackdown on child sexual exploitation.

Perlis and 16 areas in Selangor, Melaka, Perak, Kedah, Pahang, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak were under MetMalaysia’s level-1 heat alert this afternoon.

And Police in Japan have launched a nationwide manhunt for a suspect following a hammer attack in western Tokyo - which left 5 people were hurt, including a 17-year-old boy who suffered serious injuries.
