Triple Golden Delight At The Asian Games!

Malaysia has picked up a ninth gold medal at the Asian Games.

It came via our men’s squash team, who defeated Pakistan 2-nothing this evening.

They join our women’s team…who also successfully defended their title with a 2-1 win over Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Datuk Azizulhasni Awang also added to his long list of international accolades, by winning his pet keirin track cycling event.

The nine golds mean the national contingent has exceeded its initial six-gold target.

We’ve also now equaled our best-ever showing at the Asian Games, which we last achieved at the 2010 edition in Guangzhou.

The national contingent also picked up a further three bronze medals in sailing…to bring our overall tally so far to nine gold, 5 silver and 16 bronze medals.

-

Meanwhile, Christian Chin and Aidan Yunus created history by becoming the country’s first padel pair to reach the Asian Games final after defeating Iran in a marathon semifinal.

And, Ferrari’s Charles Lecrlerc has set the pace in the second free practice session for the Bahrain F1 GP in Sepang.

He was less than a second quicker than Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar, with McLaren’s Lando Norris third fastest.
