The football festival in North America is off to a dramatic start, after co-hosts Mexico kicked off the tournament with a 2-0 win over South Africa.

The home side also had a player sent off…while two South Africans were shown the red card.

This is the first time ever that three players have been given their marching orders in the opening tie.
