The Premier League’s refereeing body has admitted that it was a mistake to award Man City their winning goal in the 1-0 EPL victory over Man United.
This, after the Video Assistant Referee allowed Erling Haaland’s goal to stand, despite replays showing his teammate Enzo Fernandez in an offside position.
This prompted Pro Ref to later issue a statement acknowledging the VAR official’s error in judgement.
The result ensured that City maintained their perfect start to the season, while United are now without a win for two consecutive league matches.
