Heightened Security Following Attack On Border Control Commander

Authorities have stepped up security along all national entry points following this morning's gun attack targeting the commander of the Border Control and Protection Agency in Bukit Kayu Hitam.

The Home Minister says police investigations are ongoing, and vowed to take firm action against those involved.

The commander escaped unhurt after gunmen opened fire on his car before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, the Kedah police chief says the shooting was probably an attempt to intimidate enforcement personnel following recent operations along our border with Thailand.
