The Malaysian Employers Federation feels there’s no need to implement a work-from-home policy, despite the recent rise in TB cases nationwide.
It told the NST it’s because tuberculosis does not spread like Covid and does not warrant a blanket work-from-home policy at this stage.
However, it says it will continue to monitor the situation, adding that any move should be done based on advice from health authorities.

The Malaysian Medical Association is calling for comprehensive action from all levels of society, to deal with growing mental health and socio-economic challenges.
It says doctors have been seeing more patients whose mental health has been affected by job loss, rising debt and the inability to provide for their families.
It also cautions that untreated psychological distress, coupled with financial difficulties…can lead to cases of violence or self-harm.
The MMA said this following a recent case where a family of five were killed at their home in Kuantan, with authorities suspecting financial difficulties as a motive for the murder.
