Dashcams NOT Mandatory....Yet

The proposal to make dashcams mandatory for all vehicle owners is not confirmed yet.

The Transport Ministry has clarified that the proposal must go through a comprehensive assessment first.

This includes a study on aspects such as effectiveness, feasibility, and cost implications for the public.

As such, the ministry is focusing on advocacy for now by encouraging the public to install dashcams for their own safety.

In fact, more vehicle users are voluntarily installing these cams for protection...especially when it comes to obtaining evidence in case of any accidents.

My Digital ID is aiming to reach 17 million users by the end of the year.

It says it hopes more Malaysians will adopt the system, because it will help reduce the number of online fraud cases in the country.

My Digital ID also makes it easier for users to remember their usernames and passwords, especially as a growing number of applications require them.

Officials also revealed that the current number of users has surged to nearly 10 million over the past few months.

This is an over 450% increase compared to the same period last year.

Separately, about two million Malaysians redeemed their 100-ringgit Sara aid on the first day of the new rollout.
The Finance Ministry says the figure shows the positive reception for the assistance as well as the system's smooth operation.
