The death a Form Two student in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, recently may be linked to punishment by his seniors.
According to the state police chief, early investigations suggest that he was likely assaulted for violating school rules.
A 16-year-old student has since been remanded to assist in the investigation, which has been classified as murder.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination on the 14-year-old victim has been completed.
However, cops say the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
So far, authorities have recored 21 witness statements, including from teachers and fellow students.

Patients will no longer have to pay for postal medicine delivery services nationwide.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil says starting October 1, MCMC will assist the Health Ministry in providing the free service.
RM5 million has been allocated for the initiative.
However, patients must still apply for the service to benefit from it.
