
The Transport Minister wants more to be done to resolve the frequent disruptions that have affected LRT and MRT services recently.
Anthony Loke says he has already instructed the relevant authorities to look into the matter.
He admits that he’s disappointed at the disruptions, at a time when the govt wants more people to use public transport.

Speaking of which, Anthony Loke says the govt is committed to maintaining its subsidised passes for Klang Valley commuters.
This includes the My50 monthly pass for Prasarana’s rail and bus services.
He urged more people to use the pass, as it can help them save costs amid rising fuel prices.
Besides this, Loke says Express Rail Link is introducing targeted monthly travel passes, for civil servants working in Putrajaya, as well as those employed at the KLIA.

At the same time, the Transport Minister announced a 30% discount scheme for KTMB’s ETS and Ekspres Rakyat Timuran services.
It covers bookings made between tomorrow and the end of the month, and it covers journeys until mid-October.

Loke also announced a RM50 rebate for flights between the Peninsular and Sabah and Sarawak, from May 15th to June 14th, in conjunction with the Gawai and Kaamatan festivals.
It’s aimed at offsetting airline fuel surcharges.
The rebates are expected to benefit some 100,000 passengers.

And in other news, the Finance Ministry has raised its cash assistance for selected diesel users to RM400 amid rising fuel costs.
It involves recipients of two Budi Madani schemes, which benefit farmers, smallholders and eligible individual diesel vehicle owners.
