
Malaysians have been reminded to submit their e‑Filing early, when the tax season starts on March 1st.
The Inland Revenue Board says this includes preparing the necessary supporting documents, to avoid any possible complications later on.
LHDN also reminded that you have access to expanded tax relief this year.
This includes medical treatment relief of up to RM8,000 for your parents and biological grandparents residing in Malaysia.
It covers expenses including medical and dental treatment, full medical checkups, and caregiver costs.

A Public health expert has shot down the myth that Tuberculosis is incurable.
Dr Muhamad Hazizi Muhamad Hasani told us that patients can make a full recovery if given proper treatment, which usually lasts for at least six months...
He also reminded people to seek immediate treatment, if they show early TB symptoms including a long-lasting fever, or a cough that lasts over two weeks.

The Works Minister has assured that newer buildings in Malaysia comply with international earthquake standards.
It says the earthquake rules have been enforced since 2017.
Previously, the Housing and Local Govt Ministry said that new buildings must be able to withstand quakes of magnitude 7 and above.
This, following yesterday's strong 6.8 magnitude quake off the coast of Sabah.

Separately, The Works Ministry says the decision on whether to maintain the current freeze on toll rate increases lies solely with the Cabinet.
The current freeze, for 10 major highway concessionaires, is in effect for at least the whole of 2026.
