Avoid Travel To The Middle East

Avoid traveling to the Middle East for the time being.

The Foreign Ministry says any non-essential trips to the region should be deferred due to the escalating conflict there. 

It also assured that it's been extending assistance to Malaysians stranded in several countries due to flight cancellations.

All contacted individuals also remain safe and accounted for.

In a related development, operations at KLIA remain stable despite the evolving situation in the Middle East. 

MAHB says both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are operating fully...with the check in process, security screening, and immigration proceeding without disruption. 

This, despite at least 26 flights being cancelled so far.

Also, the government says it will try to maintain the current price of RON95 petrol,adding that the increase in global oil prices following disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz is expected to affect the country.

This, as the death toll in Iran has risen to at least 200 following the deadly joint attacks by US and Israeli forces. 

Retaliatory strikes by Iran have also caused at least nine fatalities in Israel, three in the UAE and three involving US military personnel.
