A Sabahan student recently climbed and spent 24 hours on a treetop for better internet access for her online exam and even got a scholarship after her video went viral! And another student from Sarawak has been inspired by her!

The Sarawakian student named Rose ED recently posted about how she was inspired by the Sabahan student Veveonah, and decided to camp out in the forest too for better internet connection.

“After watching the viral Sabahan's video, I thought of using her mosquito net idea myself,” she wrote in the Facebook post.

She revealed that her presentation that was supposed to be settled was previously delayed because she couldn’t attend the online class due to weak internet connection in the rural area.

Rose decided to camp out in the rubber tapping forest in the Babas area where the connection was much better compared to the connection at her longhouse area.

She said that she couldn't camp out at the forest every day due to her tight class schedule and that even though she can travel to the town of Pakan for good internet connection, she has to consider the cost of transportation as it is not as affordable as she’s underprivileged.

"As a final year student, I need the internet to access information for my final year project. I couldn't access any of the systems such as MyGuru, the MyUPSI portal, and the UPSI library,” she said.

Rose wishes that her post will reach the authorities to improve the internet connection in order to ease the student’s burden.

The internet responded by encouraging her and praising her for her determination, with many Malaysians hoping that better internet connection will be available for the students in need.

Have you ever gone through the difficulty of finishing your studies due to bad internet connection? Let us know!
