Teachers are doing their best to teach their student during this pandemic but no all students appreciate their hard work, like how this teacher waited for an hour but none of his students showed up.

A Malaysian teacher recently went viral after his daughter tweeted about how he waited for his students to join his online class but ended up waiting alone for over an hour.

“Pity my dad, he set up the online class for his students but no one joined. Until he had to call them one by one, and they didn’t even pick up,” her daughter wrote in the tweet.

“They knew he will call on the days they have class and turned off their phones.”

She said that the class was supposed to start at 8:30am but it’s past 9am and no one showed up.

“Some of them said they have to work and couldn’t join the class. I can’t imagine it because they have to take their SPM this year but they are working,” she added.

She decided to join the class in the end to cheer her dad up and managed to make him smile a little.

“He almost wanted to cry because he was excited to ask us to teach him how to create a class using zoom/google meet. But when he did, no one turned up, it was upsetting, because we know how excited he looked when he asked us to teach him.”

The teacher’s daughter also revealed that in his previous classes only 2-4 students out of 18 would show up.

Many people online were saddened by the incident and many even asked her to send the link to the online class so they can join and cheer her dad up.

Teachers in Malaysia are doing their best to make sure their students get the education needed, with another teacher previously driving to the houses of her students that have no internet access to mark their homework.

It can be disappointing and heartbreaking for teachers when incidents like this happen and we hope students will not skip their classes and parents can also help make sure their children attend their classes!
