It’s been almost two years since we saw the last episode of Game of Thrones and if you’ve been missing the series as much as we have, we’re here to tell you that more is coming.

According to reports, not one, not two but three new series are currently in developments!

If you thought the Game of Thrones universe would only go as far as the current prequel that’s in development, House of the Dragon, then you thought as HBO is eyeing a major expansion of the world of Westeros.

Deadline reported that the three series that are being developed by the studio are 9 Voyages aka Sea Snake, Flea Bottom and 10,000 Ships.

Of the trio, Sea Snake appears to be the most fully formed with a creative team on board including The Mentalist screenwriter Bruno Heller. The other two series are believed to be ideas that are being explored but no writers are attached to the projects just yet.

The studio has declined to comment at this time about the upcoming series.

News of the three new series joins a potential adaptation of author George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk & Egg and a possible GoT animated series.

According to Deadline, the 9 Voyages series “refers to the great voyages at sea made by Corlys Velaryon aboard the Sea Snake ship. Velaryon journeyed to places including Pentos, Dragonstone and around the bottom of Westeros as well as to Lys, Tyrosh and Myr. He reached the fabled lands of Yi Ti and Leng, whose wealth doubled that of the House Valyron, and him and the Ice Wolf headed north searching for passage around the top of Westeros, only to find frozen seas and icebergs as big as mountains.”

Meanwhile Flea Bottom is a project that would be set in the poorest slum district in King’s Landing. Fans will know that Flea Bottom was featured in the first four seasons of GoT, including when Arya Stark takes refuge there after fleeing the Red Keep.

The 10,000 Ships series is “a reference to the journey made by warrior queen Princess Nymeria and the surviving members of the Rhoynars, who travelled from Essos to Dorne following their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War. This migration took place around 1,000 years before the events depicted in the A Soing of Ice and Fire novels.”

Arya had even named her direwolf after Princess Nymeria.

Reports of the new projects comes after the studio’s Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys spoke to Deadline previously about the various areas of the universe to develop.

“We are talking about other areas that make sense as well,” he said. “George R.R. Martin’s world is so big and what’s interesting about it, not only is it big but he’s got a lot of road maps in terms of history.”

“So, one of the great things about House of the Dragon is that’s an established history that leads you to Game of Thrones the show, and there is a lot of little branches,” he continued. “There is a lot of opportunities and stories to tell.”

“The good news with the prequels is that there is history that George has laid out,” Casey added. “We are working with George, it would really be something we talk about with him but for right now, the prequels land themselves to it because of the really expansive history that George laid out in his world.”

We’re so excited to see what the expanded world of Westeros would look like! Especially in prequels!

Here’s hoping that all three new series will get the green light!
