It’s happening… we can FINALLY watch movies in cinemas again!
One thing that everyone missed during quarantine is definitely watching movies in cinemas and now, after over three months, it has finally been announced that cinemas will be reopening on the 1st of July in Malaysia!
Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that cinemas, theatres and live performances are allowed to operate again starting July in today's press conference.
Strict standard operation procedures (SOPs) will be implemented for the venues, with the amount of people limited to 250 in cinemas and live performance venues.
The minister announced that the number of people allowed will also change based on the specific venues saying, iIf they can only fit fewer than 250 people with 1m social distancing, then it has to be fewer than 250 people.”
“The same SOPs will apply, like ensuring no crowds during entry and also the total number of people allowed in the venue. Wearing masks, taking temperature checks and registering names will also apply.”
Cinema operators took to social media to announce the reopening with movies that will be showing and noted that the SOPs will be updated soon.
