With the RMCO now in place, we’re finally allowed to cross state borders for holidays once again.
Many have made their way to the closest beaches to enjoy the fresh air and sea but unfortunately, some have left a mess behind.
Particularly, the beaches of Port Dickson.

Just three days after the RMCO was in place, Port Dickson’s beaches were found to have been littered by irresponsible beach-goers.
Now, as we enter the third week of the RMCO, things remain the same – if not worse, as more visitors come to visit the beaches but leave behind their trash.
Utterly disappointed by the behaviours of these irresponsible visitors, Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun took to Facebook to voice out his feelings and concerns.
“On behalf of the Negri Sembilan government, I welcome visitors and thank them for choosing Port Dickson as their holiday destination,” he said. “But I’m disappointed with the behaviour of certain tourists.”
“I received a report this afternoon informing me that a bunch of visitors took the clean environment for granted by throwing their garbage everywhere,” he wrote.

“I would like to stress that the absence of rubbish bins is not an excuse for people to litter,” he noted. “As nature lovers, visitors should appreciate the environment and dispose of their waste in the right place.”
“If the place you’re in doesn’t have a rubbish bin, please hold on to it,” he suggested.
“I’m appealing to the public, please appreciate all the efforts taken by the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) who have been hard at work to ensure that the beaches are clean, safe, and comfortable all to visit,” he added.

The Mentri Besar ended his post by stating that he hopes we can all practice being responsible so that our places of recreation will remain “clean and cheerful.”
We know that being able to go to the beach once again may be an especially delightful experience, but please do your part in being responsible by making sure that you don’t litter in the process of having a good time!
If there’s no rubbish bin, take your trash back with you and dispose it in the correct manner.
Please keep our beaches clean!
