When you’re super angry, have you ever been told to “walk it off”?

One man followed that advice and ended up walking 450km after an argument with his wife!

After what is believed to be an intense argument with his wife, an Italian man is decided to take a walk to cool off. A walk that ended up spanning over 450km and taking more than a week.

The unnamed man began his angry hike from their house in Como, in the far north of Italy on the Swiss border, and ended up some 400-450km south away in Fano, a small town on the Adriatic coast.

Although we are not sure exactly what the married couple fought about, it seems like it would have been something super upsetting for the man to have spent over a week walking and cooling off.

The police put a stop to the 48-year-old man’s hike when they found him wandering at 2am and fined the man who was found to be in breach of Italy’s COVID-19 curfew rules, which are in place from 10pm to 5am.

The police officers refused to believe that the man could have walked all they way from Como, but after a quick check of his name, they found that his wife had actually reported him as missing in Como a week earlier.

According to reports, the man was cold and tired, but appeared to be lucid. He admitted that he had not realised how far he had ended up walking while clearing his head.

The man had not packed any food or supplies for his unexpected adventure but he shared that he had been given food by strangers during his walk.

“I’m fine, just a little tired,” the man told officers.

The police then called his wife who then came to collect him, and she confirmed that her husband had indeed stormed out of their home in Como after an argument and he had not been seen since then.

The wife then had to fork out €400 (RM1,975) to pay for the man’s fine and she also had to pay for his overnight hotel bill in Fano. We doubt this helped with the couple’s arguments, tbh…

Hopefully the married couple will be able to sort out their fight together or the man might just take another long walk…

Have you ever taken a walk out of anger? What’s the longest/furthest you’ve walked? Let us know!
