In a recent viral video, a boyfriend went out of his way to provide for his girlfriend when he offered to become a “human chair” for her.
The video shows the guy squatting in the middle of a busy street in New York, while his girlfriend answers a call, seated on his lap. The boyfriend doesn’t seem to mind this awkward position one bit.
While some may have found it to be a chivalrous act, many also found the act to not be one of chivalry, but of inconvenience to those walking around them and to the boyfriend himself.
One Facebook user commented, “They could have the decency to move to the side of the sidewalk. #imwalkinghere.”
“Not chivalry that’s plain rude! Just seeking attention,” another user said.
“Would’ve been cute if it was on the side of the path,” a user commented.
One user questioned, “If you don't do this to your girl, are you really in love with her?”
Another user noted, “She can sit on the curb of the sidewalk or find a bench.”

While the boyfriend’s actions were definitely sweet, we can’t help but to agree that the couple could have been a little more courteous to those around them. What are your thoughts?
