Every parent has made many sacrifices for their kids, working hard to provide them with the best. And nobody knows it better than Ridwan Mahazan.

The Malaysian student, who was studying in Japan’s Meiji University, graduated recently and received a touching surprise from his mother. She cooked one of his favourite fish dishes back home in Terengganu, and took it with her all the way to Japan just so she could prepare pulut kuning (yellow glutinous rice) for her son!
According to Ridwan, the gesture is a family tradition—she would make the pulut kuning for him every time he collected any exam results, be it UPSR, PMR or SPM. However, since he was graduating in Japan, he didn’t think his mum would be able to pull it off… but yes, she did!
“What did I do to deserve my mum?” he wrote in a tweet. He also thanked his father for “everything he has done for us”. Awww…
